MILITARY BASEBALL CAPS

Some armed forces use caps as part of their uniforms, especially the United States Navy and United States Coast Guard. Used mostly with the utility uniform and coveralls, the cap usually has a command logo on the front to denote command affiliation.

Also military baseball caps of a particular color are worn to denote a specific function of a person or particular job. Two examples are in the United States submarine force, red ball caps are worn by drill monitors who facilitate and critique members of the boat's crew during drills.

In the United States Army, parachute riggers wear red caps and parachute instructors wear black caps as part of their uniform. Military caps are a perfect opportunity to honor military service.

The military cap or hat may be removed when riding a bicycle on or off base. Personnel may remove their cap or hat when traveling inside a private automobile off base. Wearing a cover is mandatory when entering or within a military reservation unless impractical or hazardous.
